therapy Intensives
A spacious, immersive approach to healing
IFS | EMDR | Brainspotting | Somatic Intensives
Sometimes healing asks not for more sessions, but for more presence. Therapy Intensives offer a chance to step outside the rhythm of weekly appointments and into a focused, extended space where you can slow down, listen deeply, and tend to what’s ready to emerge. Whether you’re feeling stuck, moving through a life transition, or simply know that you thrive with uninterrupted time to land and stay, this format offers an intentional pause in the swirl of daily life—a way to deepen your work and meet yourself with more clarity and compassion.
My Intensives are rooted in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, supported by somatic, expressive, and trauma-informed practices. Together, we create a container where all parts are welcome and where your system’s natural capacity to heal can unfold at its own pace. These offerings are especially helpful if you’re carrying something tender that hasn’t had space to fully surface, or if you’re seeking a more concentrated form of support that can catalyze meaningful momentum.
Sessions range from a 90-minute (“mini intensive”) to 3 hours (“half-day”) per day, over 1 to 3 days. The Mini Intensives program consists of 8-10 weekly 90-minute sessions. Intensives are ideal for those craving focused time to move through a specific challenge or deepen an ongoing therapy process. Longer-format intensives (3+ hours/day) allow for even more immersion—ideal if you’re processing complex experiences or seeking transformational shifts.
While IFS provides the foundation, each Intensive is tailored collaboratively and may draw from other modalities, including EMDR, Brainspotting, movement and expressive arts, or psychotherapeutic Reiki, depending on your needs and preferences. This flexible, time-limited format can stand alone or serve as an adjunct to ongoing therapy. I also offer Intensives for therapists and IFS practitioners who wish to experience the model more personally or explore parts that arise in their own clinical work.
Areas of focus may include:
-
- Navigating life transitions
- Moving through a stuck point in creative or decision-making processes
- Understanding emotional triggers in relationships
- Exploring the emotional impact of chronic illness
- Engaging intergenerational trauma or ancestral healing
- Cultivating clarity and confidence in leadership, creativity, or spiritual practice
- For therapists: working with parts connected to countertransference or clinical blocks
IFS Intensives are available virtually and in person at my Pasadena office. If this offering resonates, I invite you to reach out for a free 15-20 minute exploratory call to see if this format feels supportive for where you are now.
Intensives FAQ
What happens during an Intensive?
Each Intensive is shaped collaboratively, so no two are exactly the same. We’ll begin with intake, some grounding and orientation, and from there follow what your system is ready to explore. You might spend time with one part for the full session, or move between several. There’s space for silence, emotion, curiosity, and integration. I’ll guide the process using IFS as our foundation, while weaving in other modalities when supportive. The pacing is spacious, so there’s no rush—just room to stay with what arises.
How should I prepare?
Once we’ve scheduled your Intensive, I’ll send along a short questionnaire to help clarify your hopes, needs, and any logistical considerations. You don’t need to prepare in any special way—just come as you are. Some people find it helpful to clear a bit of time before and after the session for rest, reflection, or gentle transition. If we’re meeting in person, you’ll have access to tea, water, and cozy spaces to land between segments.
How doES A 90-minute “mini intensive” differ from the 3 hour “half-day Intensive" format?
Therapy Intensives (90 minutes to 3 hours) offer a condensed yet potent space to focus on a specific theme or stuck point. The Mini Intensives program consists of 8-10 weekly or biweekly 90-minute sessions. They can be helpful for deepening an existing process or working through something acute. Multi-day formats of 3 hour sessions allow for more unfolding—often with breaks built in the 3 hour session, and time to explore multiple parts or layers of a system in a concentrated time. We can talk together to find the format that would feel most supportive for you.
Can I do an Intensive if I already have a therapist?
Yes. Many clients choose to do an Intensive as a complement to their ongoing work with another therapist. I’m happy to collaborate in a way that honors your existing process and supports your healing holistically. With your consent, I can also coordinate with your primary therapist if that feels useful.
Do you offer Intensives for therapists or IFS practitioners?
Yes. Intensives can be a powerful space for therapists and IFS practitioners to explore parts that show up in the therapy room—especially those connected to countertransference, boundary dynamics, or difficulty accessing Self energy. This can be a form of personal work, professional development, or both.
Do you offer Intensives virtually?
Yes. Both virtual and in-person formats are available. Some people prefer the grounding of being in the same physical space; others appreciate the ease and comfort of working from home.
