Psychotherapeutic Reiki
A somatic-spiritual approach to healing and integration
For those seeking a different kind of embodied healing experience, I offer Psychotherapeutic Reiki—a gentle yet powerful integration of energy work, somatic attunement, and transpersonal psychotherapy. These sessions draw on my background as a bodyworker, Reiki practitioner, and trauma-informed psychotherapist to support accessing a deeper layers of relaxation, release, and embodiment.
Rooted in the lineage of Usui Reiki, this approach creates space for healing to emerge not only through words, but through sensation, imagery, and emotion held in the body. Psychotherapeutic Reiki often weaves together energy healing with principles of depth-oriented, relational, and somatic, experiential psychotherapies—including Brainspotting.
Brainspotting is a powerful modality that taps into the brain’s natural ability to process and release stored trauma, emotional blocks, and tension. By identifying a “gaze spot”—a visual or felt point of activation—and combining it with Reiki, the nervous system is supported in moving toward deep, organic healing. Layering Reiki into this process enhances the experience, offering a gentle energetic current of healing energy that supports nervous system regulation, grounding, and balance.
Psychotherapeutic Reiki may be offered as part of a psychotherapy session. Whether anchoring a sense of safety, easing the grip of stress, or softening trauma patterns, this work supports the nervous system in returning to a felt sense of wholeness. You may be seated or lying down as I offer gentle, light hands-on or hands-off Reiki protocols. When integrated into psychotherapy, Reiki does not replace the therapeutic process—it deepens it, helping access and integrate what words alone often cannot reach.
This work may be especially supportive if you:
Feel emotionally or physically stuck
Experience chronic stress or nervous system dysregulation
Seek an approach that honors both psychological and energetic healing
Are open to deepening connection to your body-mind’s innate intelligence
During and after a psychotherapeutic Reiki session, you many notice:
A noticeable shift from sympathetic activation to parasympathetic ease
Softening of emotional and physical stress and mental noise
Increased body awareness and connection to your internal landscape
A felt sense of vitality, stillness and spaciousness
A deeper connection to intuition
Who is Psychotherapeutic Reiki for?
This work is best suited for individuals open to somatic and energy-based healing, with a strong capacity for internal resourcing. For current clients, Reiki may be integrated into our ongoing sessions. For those already in therapy elsewhere, sessions are also available as adjunctive psychotherapeutic support.
Sessions are typically 75 minutes, allowing spacious time for both energy work and integration. As with all of my offerings, they are held with care, curiosity, and attunement to your unique process. If this approach speaks to you, I welcome you to reach out.
